I am overjoyed to have defended my gold medal. It was a tough competition, but I was determined to give my best,” said Lekhara, who is currently ranked world no. 1 in the women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 category.
Mona Agarwal, a two-time World Cup gold medalist making her Paralympic debut, also performed admirably, securing the bronze medal with a score of 227.6 points. This marked another first for India, with two medals in the same event.

Preethi Pal Bags Historic Bronze in Track and Field

In the track and field events, Preethi Pal etched her name in history by winning a bronze medal in the women’s 100m T13 event. Pal, who has a visual impairment, clocked a time of 12.15 seconds, setting a new personal best and securing India’s first-ever medal in this event at the Paralympics.”I am overjoyed to have won a medal for my country.
