Shooting Sport Paralympics 2024 Schedule: Avani Lekhara Aims for Glory in Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 at Paris Paralympics 2024

The Paris Paralympics 2024 is in full swing, and all eyes are on India’s star shooter Avani Lekhara as she gears up for the Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 event. Lekhara, who has already made history by winning two gold medals in the 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event, is poised to add another feather to her cap.

The qualification round for the Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 event is scheduled to take place at 1:00 PM IST on September 3rd. Lekhara will be joined by her compatriot Mona Agarwal as they compete for a spot in the final. The top 8 shooters from the qualification round will advance to the final, which is set to take place at 7:30 PM IST.

In the qualification round, the shooters will fire 40 shots in each of the three positions: prone, standing, and kneeling. The scores from all three positions will be added together to determine the final qualification score.

Lekhara, who won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event, will be looking to continue her winning streak in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 event. The 22-year-old shooter has been in top form and is determined to make her country proud once again.

“I am feeling confident and ready for the challenge ahead,” said Lekhara in a pre-event interview. “I have been training hard, and I am determined to give my best performance. I am grateful for the support of my team and my country, and I will do everything in my power to bring home another gold medal.”

Mona Agarwal, Lekhara’s teammate, is also expected to put up a strong performance in the event. Agarwal has been a consistent performer for India in shooting events and will be looking to make her mark in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 event.

The Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions SH1 event promises to be an exciting one, with shooters from around the world competing for the coveted gold medal. India’s Avani Lekhara and Mona Agarwal will be up against tough competition from shooters such as Ukraine’s Iryna Shchetnik and China’s Zhang Cuiping.

In addition to the shooting events, the Paris Paralympics 2024 will also feature competitions in athletics, archery, and other sports. India’s athletes have been performing exceptionally well in the games so far, with several medals already in their kitty.

Bhagyashree Jadhav will be competing in the Women’s Shot Put F34 event on September 3rd, while archer Pooja will take on her opponent in the Women’s Recurve event. In athletics, Deepthi Jeevanji will be in action in the Women’s 400m T20 Final, while Sharad Kumar, Mariyappan Thangavelu, and Shailesh Kumar will compete in the Men’s High Jump T63 event. Ajeet Singh Yadav, Rinku, and Sundar Singh Gurjar will be vying for medals in the Men’s Javelin Throw F46 event.

As the Paris Paralympics 2024 enters its sixth day, the excitement and anticipation continue to build. India’s athletes have been putting up a stellar performance, and the country is hopeful of more medals in the days to come.
